This event invite is for non Shrewsbury Canoe Club Members to join us on our Pembrokeshire Sea Kayak trip.

By joining this trip we will give you one year free membership to the club!  You can then choose to be invited to events and trips including sea kayak trips and all the other whitewater, placid water, touring, pool sessions and surf trips.

I'm organising a long weekend sea kayaking in Pembrokeshire.

I am looking to bring in an Advance coach/Leader for this trip so there will be a cost for this trip(most of our club led trips are free).  Having had some quotes this is looking at coming in at £137.50 for the two days.  This is half the price of a commercial trip rate.  It will mean that at some points you will be lead by a qualified club leader and some points the qualified external leader.

Friday and Saturday will be trips for intermediate and beginners (groups may be split) with trips being focused on an out and back journey or a point to point along the coast line.  Location will depend on weather, conditions and what the group would like to get out of the two days.   We may even be able to look at the British Canoe Sea Kayak and Sea Kayak Coastal Awards if people are interested. NEW Sea Kayak Awards! (britishcanoeing.org.uk)

Depending on the aims of the groups we can look at tidal planning, rescues, self rescues, tows, kit, or scenarios.  Equally we can chill and enjoy the wildlife - it will be down to you to let me know what you would like out of the weekend, BUT it will be weather dependant.

I'd like to know what you would like to get out of the weekend and a bit about your experience. To do my best to split the groups and focus on what skills you'd like to work on once you've signed up please complete the following very short survey  https://forms.gle/SfbA8uZSmvt5qReq9

Sunday and Monday will be an advanced trip!  This will be offered first to the club leaders as a way for them to progress their personal skills and leadership to enable the club to offer more trips.

However if there is enough interest we may be able to add extra intermediate trips on Sunday and Monday.  I would need 6 people to make this viable, let me know if you are interested.  There will be a cost for this trip, but price will be confirmed if we have enough interest.

I  will suggest a campsite closer to the time which will be based on likely location of paddling.  You will need to book this directly.  You are very welcome to sort your own accommodation if you prefer something other than camping, but will need to get yourself to the start points each day.  We will need to run shuttles between us on the day.

Payment is be expected at time of booking, this will be non returnable, but you have the right to sell your spot to another member.

The club have roughly 6 sea kayaks that can be hired at £8.50 a day.  Please let me know if you need to hire a boat.  I suspect these will get booked quickly.

For those looking for extra activities in the area or have non paddlers with them, the Puffins should be on Skomer.  A boat trip to Skomer would be the perfect time.  You will need to book early to get a place Skomer Island | The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales (welshwildlife.org)
