Registration

(depends on selected options)

Base fee:
  • use this one if you are a general member needing to be led on the trip - you will initially book onto the waiting list subject to additional Leaders being available
  • use this one if you are a Junior needing to be led on the trip
  • use this one if you are booking on as a Leader
  • use this one if you are booking on as a Peer Paddle, acknowledging you do not require leading on the Tryweryn and will make your own paddling decisions

Grant and Nick (and hopefully a couple of others) are planning a trip on the Lower Tryweryn on Sat 2nd Sept. This trip is focused on our Juniors, as our budding stars are keen to step up from the Dee.
However, if we get enough Leaders then we will extend this trip to include an 'all in' Club paddle, and we will have the usual Peer Paddle with us for those comfortable on the Lower, able to run it without being led and responsible for your own paddling decisions.
Juniors should book onto the 'Junior' registration, led Adults please book onto the Adults waiting list, and Peer Paddlers choose 'Peer Paddle' - all at registration. I've also included a 'Leaders' registration for those leaders willing to come along.
-----
The Lower Treweryn is a grade 3 run, paddling for about 3 hrs. Meet at main Bala carpark (Behind fire station) at 10am to sort the shuttle. We will aim to get on at the camp site at 10.30 so there is no need to book onto the Centre. Parking in Bala and at the camp site is £5.50 per car.
If we have time (and energy) then we may bag a run on the upper to finish as a peer paddle only for those suitably experienced.
All paddlers must have paddled on Grade 2 as a minimum, preferably having paddled Serpents Tail or similar, or have been on a couple of our intro to WW sessions on the Severn at Jackfield or the Dee at Llangollen. All paddlers must know how to capsize and swim in a river setting and know basic strokes including breaking in and out of swift moving water, be able to braces as a minimum.
Paddlers must have; a suitable WW kayak, Paddle, Buoyancy aid, Spray deck Helmet, Wetsuit and cagoule as a minimum (Dry suits preferred), suitable footwear, Food and drink, Whistle. Bring a Throwline and Knife if you know how to use them. If you need to hire Club Equipment please contact Grant on 07837 963160 so we can sort access to the container.
If the trip is full please put your name down on the waiting list, you may just get on.
There is a possible chance this trip could be moved on to the Dee as the Tryweryn is dam released. We wont know if it is running until the Wednesday before.
Come and paddle! If you are unsure this trip is for you please get in touch - you can get hold of Grant on 07837 963160.
