Daveb is running a club trip on the lower Vyrnwy from just above the Llanymynech aquaduct (GR 253197) to the crew green/melverley bridge over the Severn.
suitable for canoes, sea kayaks and long-ish general purpose kayaks. Also for SUPs and shorter kayaks if you have the skills/stamina. About 20kms. 4 to 6 hours of paddling depending on river flow and group speed. Group members over 14y.o. should expect to paddle all the way unaided. Any group member under 14y.o. must be accompanied by a parent/carer with skill/stamina/kit to tow if necessary
kit list; boat, deck. paddle , leash on waist belt for SUP, suitable clothing/footwear,packed lunch and drink, spare warm layer.
If you have them: first aid, tow system, splits.
If other coaches/leaders sign up the number of places will go up.
If you need a club boat book it and pay the hire fee via the website, Transporting the boat is for you to sort out but I will be at the containers on saturday 22nd from 4pm to 4.30 to issue kit. Kit must be returned before 6pm on 24th April for use at the frankwell session. I will be at the containers to receive kit on 24th from about 5pm.
