Shaun Baker will be running the 16 hour first aid course over the weekend of the 28th and 29th of January.

The Qualification requirement is a 16 hour course. This course is normally £120-140 per person, Shaun is offering it at £65 plus the venue hire. The club will subsidise 50% for members who are committed to completing leader or coach qualifications, or who are leaders completing refreshers. So that's £37.50 per person as previously offered.

The course is suitable and recognised by British Canoeing for the pre-requisite for most of the coach / leader qualifications.

The course will offer practical 1st aid applications for people involved in paddle sport and other outdoor activity. 

The course venue will be at Hanwood village hall in Hanwood, Shrewsbury. A488 Main Road Hanwood SY5 8JN.

It is intended to run the course at the village hall in Hanwood from 09:00 until 17:30 although this may move to the containers and club area on the sunday for scenarios.

This course will cover all of the required aspects of first aid but the intention is to utilise as many paddling scenarios as possible. So on Sunday bring paddling gear as there may also be some getting wet!

Bring lunch each day and we will ensure there are plenty of hot drinks and biscuits available.

A week before the course we will send out some light pre-read material to help get through the theory input so that we can spend maximum time doing practical scenarios.

Due to the financial commitment by the Club, regrettably we can't offer refunds for cancellations unless the place can be otherwise sold.
