Polo Update

In April 2013 Sport England awarded Shrewsbury Canoe Club £9,040 to buy 8 new composite canoe polo kayaks, paddles & associated kit, along with a pair of floating goals.

The kit will be split between 4 small, low volume boats suitable for young teenagers & small adults (50~60kg), and 4 large, high volume ones, built for paddlers over 100kg.

To meet the development commitments we made to Sport England, we are looking to get as many paddlers trying out polo over the next year. At least another 300 paddler/sessions involving 77 people. That’s less than 3 sessions each but we want to expand the A & B team squads, while developing ladies & youth teams as well.
