Shrewsbury Canoe Club focuses primarily on the recreational side of paddle sport and also has an active kayak polo section and a growing interest in flat water racing.
The club prides itself on introducing both children and adults alike to the various forms of paddle sport in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The club aims to keep its costs to members as low as possible to keep paddle sport accessible to as wide a range of the local community as possible.
Although we do not at present have any Stand Up Paddleboards in our fleet, if you ask we can arrange to have some available on our Monday night river sessions.
River & Pool Sessions
Pre-booked Tuesday pool sessions run 7-8pm & 8-9pm. They start in mid September & run through to March. Members wishing to book a place should contact the Secretary for up to date information.
Monday river nights on the Severn at Frankwell and Wednesday evenings at Llangollen run from the beginning of May to mid September. Prospective members are welcome to come to two taster sessions before joining. Contact the Secretary for more information.
Canoe Polo sessions are on Mondays from September to April 8-9 pm in the Quarry Centre – get there early & get on the water! Contact the Polo Secretary for more information
Annual membership is £15 for youths & students, £20 for individuals, £35 for a family.
You can join via the secure membership site and there’s also a Facebook group where a bunch of members and their friends hang out and where you will find loads of pictures of recent paddles / trips etc.
A Google Docs boat hire booking form is now available for use by members.
